The grey sky and the cold rain couldn\u2019t dampen our spirits. A wind of change was about to blow on Ubisoft Qu\u00e9bec, sending part of our team up North.<\/p>\n<p>At UbiNord. A second workspace in the neighborhood, just across the street.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VvyjYjRfW7g\" width=\"100%\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>But First, Some Background<\/h3>\n<p>In April 2016, Ubisoft Qu\u00e9bec opened <a href=\"http:\/\/ubisoftquebec.flywheelsites.com\/en\/ubisoft-moves-into-its-new-studio-in-quebec-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">its brand new studio at 585 Charest Est<\/a>, an open and friendly space to welcome about 400 team members.<\/p>\n<p>Less than a year later, in February 2017, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pg\/ubisoftquebec\/photos\/?tab=album&amp;album_id=10155268587722722\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">two new stories<\/a> were added to make room for the growing team and welcome about 500 creators.<\/p>\n<p>But the studio just kept on growing. And thanks to <a href=\"http:\/\/ubisoftquebec.flywheelsites.com\/en\/ubisoft-quebec-releases-assassins-creed-odyssey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Assassin&#8217;s Creed Odyssey<\/a>&#8216;s worldwide success, the studio still has the wind in its sails.<\/p>\n<p>As announced two years ago as part of <a href=\"http:\/\/ubisoftquebec.flywheelsites.com\/en\/ubisoft-announces-the-creation-of-the-ubisoft-saguenay-studio-and-record-investments-in-quebec\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">its most important expansion plan in the province of Qu\u00e9bec<\/a>, Ubisoft will create 200 new jobs in Quebec City by 2027, investing an additional 140 million dollars in the region.<\/p>\n<p>But we need room to welcome all these talented people!<\/p>\n<h3>The solution?<\/h3>\n<p>Invest $3 million to open a second site of about 30,000 square feet. This new workspace is in addition to the 70,000 square feet already occupied by our team, totalizing over 100,000 square feet in the Saint-Roch neighborhood. It&#8217;s a neighborhood that helped Quebec City become a worldwide hub for video games. It&#8217;s a diverse and eclectic ecosystem where you can find trendy restaurants, inspiring cultural venues, festive bars and cool caf\u00e9s. It&#8217;s also the offsetting for a beautiful collective solidarity.<\/p>\n<p>Saint-Roch is all that, and more.<\/p>\n<p>With UbiNord, we want to make room for the Saint-Roch we love. Our interior work environment had to be a mirror of the outside environment.<\/p>\n<p>With over 500 team members, Ubisoft has an impact on the neighborhood. And inversely, Saint-Roch inspires us. It&#8217;s a collaboration. A discussion.
