Pablo’s Top 10 Places in Quebec City
This week, we launched the third and last part of a series of episodes showing our employees’ life in Quebec City. Today, Animation Technical Director Pablo Toscano is listing his 10 favorite spots around Quebec City to visit with his family!
\\
1. PARC NATIONAL DE LA JACQUES-CARTIER
My favourite place in the area. Winter or summer, this park gives me the opportunity to practise all the outdoors activities that I love: canoeing, hiking, running, cross-country skiing or simply enjoy looking at the beautiful mountains of Québec. It’s a really nice place to go and it’s only 30 minutes away from the studio.
2. LA VALLÉE DU BRAS DU NORD
Super nice place to do some canoeing or to go mountain biking. We always have so much fun going down the river with the canoe. Landscapes are breathtaking and the Delaney fall is a must see.
3. LE PETIT CHAMPLAIN
This area of the old town is magical. It makes you feel like you’re travelling in Europe, but only 10 minutes away from the studio, on foot. You NEED to go there during Christmas holiday or during Les fêtes de la Nouvelle France.
4. GRANDS FEUX LOTO-QUÉBEC
It’s by far the event I like the most during night time. Even if it takes me a little bit of time to get there, I love watching the fireworks from the other side of the Saint-Laurent river. Looking at the fireworks while also enjoying a view of the Château Frontenac is pure magic and it’s definitely one of my favourite moments of the year.
5. PARC DE LA PLAGE JACQUES-CARTIER
Our favourite place to go biking with the family. Only a few minutes and we’re there. A beautiful view of the bridges and the shadows coming from the centenary trees in the park. This place is perfect to enjoy a picnic.
6. PARC DES CHUTES-DE-LA-CHAUDIÈRES
Our dog Max’s favourite place. He loves to walk on the rocks. I am always impressed to see the strong water flow during spring. I feel very lucky to live in a city where there are so many places you can go to enjoy outdoors activities.
7. PLAINES D’ABRAHAM
A must see in Quebec City. Whether you go there to enjoy the Festival d’été de Québec, the Carnaval or simply to listen to some good music at Kiosque Edwin-Bélanger, this park is my favourite place to go when I need to decide on an activity quickly.
8. L’ÎLES D’ORLÉANS
A classic during the end of summer. You can go there to take a nice walk and go apple picking with kids or friends. A nice activity that marks the end of summer and the beginning of fall. The nice colours in the trees make that season one of the nicest in Québec.
9. LE CARNAVAL DE QUÉBEC
It’s winter and it’s time to play. It’s the best way to enjoy winter in Québec City. When I arrived in Quebec 17 years ago, I was a little scared by cold weather, but quickly, I realized that to enjoy it, you need to go outside and have some fun. I really enjoy that festival. I love the contrast of the snow and the nice costumes, the lights and the nice Québec music.
10. L’ÉRABLIÈRE DU LAC-BEAUPORT
It’s the end of winter and it’s time to go to the sugar shack! It’s definitely the most sugary moment of the year. During springtime, the nature wakes up and the sun gets stronger and warmer. It’s so nice to eat a fresh maple syrup on snow while soaking in the sun. My favourite sugar shack is only 20 minutes away from the studio. A really nice place in the mountains.
