Fan of the Month: Shiva Abarai
The Fan of the Month is a new initiative to bring to light important people dear to us at Ubisoft Québec. Whether it’s a significant player, an ambassador for our brands, a talented cosplayer or an artist who’s wowing us with his/her #FanArt, we want to introduce these amazing fans through a fun Q&A.
To start 2020 off right, we chose Italian cosplayer Shiva Abarai. Since the release of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, she created and wore three exceptionnal Kassandra costumes, as well as taking part in numerous international events. At the launch in Quebec City in October 2018, she teamed up with Krishna Dammert to embody the Alexios/Kassandra pair.
DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN THREE WORDS.
Creative, stubborn and shy.
WHAT IS YOUR ALL-TIME FAVOURITE GAME?
The Secret of Monkey Island was my first videogame and is my favourite for sure!
IT WOULD NOT BE A PROPER GAMING SESSION WITHOUT…
My PlayStation 4 and of course, a good videogame.
IN YOUR OPINION, WHO ARE THE 3 PEOPLE EVERYONE SHOULD FOLLOW ON SOCIAL MEDIA?
I follow many cosplayers and creative people and choosing only three is very difficult, but some are always an inspiration with their works, like: @wrightbeat_cosplay (they are actually a couple but I’ll count as one), @phantomtailor and @blinkscoscave.
WHAT IS THE FIRST UBISOFT GAME YOU EVER PLAYED TO?
My first Ubisoft game was Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. And I’m always hoping for a new sequel 😀
IF YOU COULD BE ANY CHARACTER OF ANY GAME, WHICH ONE WOULD YOU BE?
As a cosplayer I can say I can be almost be any character I want. Not for real, but it is fun to be that character for a day. I think one of my favourite to interpret is Kassandra, she is strong and determined.
IF YOU WERE STUCK ON A DESERTED ISLAND (WITH WI-FI) WITH ONLY THREE VIDEO GAMES TO PLAY. WHAT WOULD THEY BE?
The Secret of Monkey Island, Borderlands and Assassin’s Creed Origins.
IF COULD LIVE IN ONE OF ASSASSIN’S CREED’S TIME PERIOD, WHICH ONE WOULD IT BE?
I live in Italy and I have seen in person most of the locations where Assassin’s Creed 2 takes place , but I think it would be interesting to see them in the Renaissance period too.
WHAT DOES BEING PART OF THE ASSASSIN’S CREED COMMUNITY MEANS TO YOU?
I’m very happy to be part of this community. Thanks to Assassin’s Creed, I’ve met a lot people with the same passion, I traveled and had many opportunities a fan usually can only dream about. I enjoy to see the creations of other fans based on Assassin’s Creed (drawings, costumes, etc) and I think we are all supportive to each other.
WHAT IS THE ONE QUESTION YOU’RE DYING TO ASK TO A DEVELOPER?
I would ask if they have some funny stories to tell related to their work.
